Massage Therapy is good for you:- FACT!

Everyone knows that stress is now an integral part of our daily lives. Yet even with ever increasing pressures and responsibilities, both at home and work, most people still unwittingly ignore their own health! This often leads to them suffering from various medical conditions, which can ultimately affect the overall quality and performance of their lives. Fortunately, there are plenty of solutions (treatments & therapy’s) readily available for them to explore. Massage is one such therapy, which for thousands of years has been providing real-world relief from stress and its associated issues.

Massage Therapy reduces stress:- FACT!

It is no secret that to live a long and healthy life, it is important to give our body ample time to; work, rest & play. Regular massage is proven to help reduce our stress levels and encourage our cells to regenerate, especially as the effects of massage are cumulative. Modern massage therapists use many different styles and techniques, state of the art ergonomically designed equipment and aromatherapy (nut free) heated oils, plus hot stones, variable speed massagers and healing herbs.

Massage Therapy increases relaxation:- FACT!

Anyone who has experienced a prolonged (90min to 120min) full body massage, is aware of the beneficial and positive effects it has on their mind, body and in some cases, their soul too. As well as being a deeply relaxing therapy, massage also has many other health benefits too. Regular massage helps to make you feel fresh; it also lessens musculoskeletal aches and pains caused by our hectic lifestyles.

Let’s take a look at some benefits of receiving regular massage treatments:-

Reduces Stress and Anxiety
A deep and therapeutic massage can significantly reduce our level of stress and anxiety. The effects of stress and anxiety are quickly and easily stored in a number of different body areas, including; shoulders, lower- back, neck and abdomen. By relieving tension in these areas, we allow the mind to become calmer and experience rejuvenation.

Promotes Deeper Breathing
Massage therapy encourages more blood to circulate, carrying additional oxygen to our organs. By enhancing and regulating our breathing, we can gain relief from a number of health issues such as headaches, stress and muscular aches. A regular massage also helps to release toxins and negative energy, providing fresh feeling and filling us with positive energy.

Improves Circulation
Stress and anxiety cause body tension which hampers our circulatory system. Massage helps to correct our circulation, providing amongst other benefits, increased strength and endurance. Regular massage, especially during the winter months, can regulate our circulation and encourage a free- flow of energy. Efficient circulation also improves our tolerance level, muscle growth and promotes our ability to heal.

Promotes Joint Flexibility
Massage helps relieve stress in and around our joints which encourages flexibility. Regular, gentle manipulation around our joints, concentrating on where our Tendons attach, helps alleviate soreness, stiffness, aches and pains. Whilst massage should never be directed directly onto our bones, careful manipulation around our joints provides both short and long term relief.

Enhances a Calm Creative Mind
Regular massage stimulates our brain processes, leading to more creative thoughts. It also encourages activities like developing plans, creative thinking, organizing thoughts and reducing our stress automatically. With less stress and calmer thoughts, we have a more stable and creative mind.

Increases Self-awareness
Today’s fast paced life often blocks the sympathetic connection between our mind and body. From the moment we open our eyes in the morning, our mind slips into a frenetic state of worrying, concern and consternation. Regular massage allows us to experience centred emotions, ease of thoughts, calmness, empathy and a greater feeling of well-being.

Promotes Mental Alertness
As massage promotes a mindful state of deep relaxation, we achieve a heightened state of mental alertness. We feel far more relaxed and calm, whilst our mind becomes alert and incredibly active. Problem solving increases as does our special awareness. Our short term memory and ability to focus are also enhanced.

Increases Peace of Mind
The level of deep relaxation achieved during a full body massage, brings with it a sublime state of mindful peace. This is defined as an emotional state when a person feels calm and good about themselves naturally. Massage helps us to attain genuine peace of mind to a far greater extent, than those who never experience massage.

Improves Body Posture
Massage can significantly improve our posture. Regular deep- tissue massage treatments ensure a gradual and natural improvement in the muscle tension supporting our skeletal system. Massage helps to make our body a more flexible and supple platform. Massage therapy works wonders for sport and business-people alike.

These are just a few of the benefits gained by receiving a regular massage treatment. Massages are customised to provide bespoke experiences for each individual. Therapists require clients to be open and honest about their lifestyles and health concerns. Only then can ‘best advice’ be offered. Whether we’re looking for a rejuvenating (soft) or a stress busting (firm) treatment, we can’t expect to see instant results after the very first session. Usually a course of 4 to 6 treatments will be needed to achieve long last results. Monthly treatments offer the best and most cost effective solution for most clients. If more attention is required, then additional treatments can always be added.

Most therapists run a very busy diary schedule, so book well in advance.
